Ninasam Theatre Residency 2013

INFORMATION FOR ALL THEATREWALLAHS!

India Theatre Forum is bringing to you a unique opportunity of Theatre Residencies at theatre Institutes and Organisations within India.

This is one of our new projects, within which we partner with theatre organisations to host around 15 people within the space / campus of the organisation for up to 7 days for an intense study tour of theatres in our country.

This very first residency is being offered by NINASAM Theatre Institute, Heggodu, Karnataka.

As part of the NINASAM residency, you will get the opportunity to:
1. Stay on the campus of NINASAM Theatre Institute
2. Watch performances by NINASAM Students
3. Interaction with students and faculty
4. Watch a few Yakshagana performances
5. Watch the NINASAM Theatre Institute Festival
6. Have discussions around the performances
7. Tour Ninasam campus
8. Witness demonstrations of teaching methods of NINASAM
9. Access NINASAM library and archives
10. Interact with the Heggoddu village theatre community
11. Get a glimpse of the history of Kannada Theatre
12. Get a practical insight into the history, values and functionality of NINASAM.

Dates: 12th May to 18th May 2013
Number of seats: 15
Age criterion: 25 years to 40 years

Cost: Rs. 9000/- for all days. This cost includes food and accommodation for all 7 days. The cost of travel to and from Ninasam is to be borne by the participants.

Accomodation will be provided in the NINASAM student dormitories with shared bathrooms.

13 May 2013 | 4pm - 6pm: Introduction and demonstrations on the teaching methods at Ninasam Theatre Institute by Manju/Phaniyamma
14 May 2013 | 10am - 12:30pm: Discussion on the previous evening's show, Interaction with actors and the director
14 May 2013 | 4pm - 6pm: The organizational and logistical planning at Ninasam: an introduction
15 May 2013 | 10am - 12:30pm: Discussion on the previous evening's show, Interaction with an expert
15 May 2013 | 4pm - 6pm: Video excerpts from earlier Ninasam productions, with introduction; followed by a discussion
16 May 2013 | 10am - 12:30pm: Discussion on the previous evening's show, Interaction with an expert
16 May 2013 | 4pm - 6pm: Video excerpts from earlier Ninasam productions, with introduction; followed by a discussion
